These terms are the agreement between you and LumiNames about your use of this site. By visiting or using LumiNames you accept them. If you don't accept them, please don't use the site.

Throughout this document, "LumiNames", "we", and "us" refer to the operator of this site; "you" refers to anyone who visits or uses it; and "the site" means the LumiNames website and any related pages we publish.

1. Who can use LumiNames

You may use LumiNames if you can form a binding contract in your country and are not barred from doing so under applicable law. If you're using LumiNames on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have the authority to bind that organization to these terms.

2. Accounts

Most of LumiNames is available without an account. If you create one, keep your credentials confidential and let us know promptly if you suspect they've been compromised. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account. We may suspend or close accounts that are used to violate these terms or the law.

3. Content and licensing

Name entries, meanings, etymologies, editorial notes, numerology explanations, illustrations, and page layouts on LumiNames are protected by copyright and other intellectual-property rights. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, revocable license to view and share individual pages for non-commercial purposes, with a visible link back to the source page.

You may not:

  • Copy, scrape, mirror, or re-host substantial portions of the LumiNames database, whether manually or with automated tools.
  • Use LumiNames content to train, fine-tune, or evaluate machine learning models without our written permission.
  • Republish LumiNames pages, in whole or in significant part, on another site or in another product.
  • Remove or obscure attribution, source links, or copyright notices.

4. Acceptable use

Please don't misuse the site. In particular, don't:

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the site, its infrastructure, or other users' accounts.
  • Send requests at a volume or pattern that degrades performance for other visitors.
  • Introduce malware, run vulnerability scans without permission, or interfere with security features.
  • Use LumiNames to harass, defame, or infringe the rights of others, or for any unlawful purpose.

5. Nature of the information

LumiNames is a reference and educational site. Name meanings, etymologies, and historical notes reflect common scholarly readings and the sources we consulted; different traditions sometimes give different answers, and we do our best to present the most widely recognised interpretation.

Numerology content is presented as a cultural and interpretive tradition, not as a science, prediction, or professional advice. Nothing on LumiNames is legal, medical, psychological, financial, religious, or spiritual advice. Do not rely on it as a substitute for a qualified professional.

6. Third-party links

LumiNames may link to third-party sites for reference or context. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content, policies, or practices. Visiting them is at your own discretion.

7. Availability and changes

We may add, remove, or change features of the site at any time. We may take the site down for maintenance, or discontinue it entirely, without notice. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access.

8. Disclaimers

The site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including, to the fullest extent permitted by law, warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or availability.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LumiNames and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the site. Our total aggregate liability arising from these terms or your use of the site will not exceed one hundred United States dollars (US$100).

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold LumiNames harmless from claims arising out of your breach of these terms, your misuse of the site, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

11. Termination

You may stop using LumiNames at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the site — or to specific features — if we reasonably believe you have violated these terms. Sections intended to survive termination (including content licensing, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law) will continue to apply.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator of LumiNames is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Nothing in these terms limits any mandatory consumer rights you may have under the law of the country where you live.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the site evolves. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the new terms; if you don't accept them, please stop using the site.
